 WDOK Invites You to “Do-Si-Do” with Fall Hayrides & Square Dancing at Cleveland Metroparks
WDOK and Cleveland Metroparks invite you to enjoy “Fall Hayrides & Square Dancing” at the Chalet Recreation Area. Take in the splendid colors of the season on leisurely hayrides through Mill Stream Run Reservation in Strongsville, held every Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon in October. The Saturday evening hayrides and square dancing fun, on October 7, 14, 21, and 28, can be enjoyed from 6-10 pm. Visitors can enjoy Sunday afternoon hayrides and square dancing on October 8, 15, 22, and 29 from noon-4 pm. The tractor-drawn hayrides, offered on a first-come, first-served basis, leave approximately every half hour, and are held rain or shine. As part of the fall festivities, visitors have the opportunity to kick up their heels at “good time” square dances before or after their hayrides as a professional caller leads dancers of all ages in a do-si-do. A hay maze can also be enjoyed, and a balloon-twisting, face-painting clown is on-hand for the fun festivities, too. Refreshments are also available. The Sunday afternoon activities will also include musical entertainment, pumpkin carving demonstrations (select Sundays), and a nature discovery area.

Martina McBride’s “The Joy of Christmas” is coming to the CSU Wolstein Center on Saturday, December 2nd. The show is a multi-media theatrical event complete with dazzling sets, brilliant lights, and impressive special effects, all created especially for this one-of-a-kind stage show and starring one of music’s most spectacular voices and dynamic entertainers. Now in its fourth year on tour, “The Joy of Christmas” has received widespread critical acclaim for its groundbreaking, state-of-the-art production. The show features a 90 foot wide film backdrop, multiple sets, elaborate lighting, and a cast of actors to create a theatrical experience that changes environments from song to song. Executive producer, Bud Schaetzle, states, “One minute you’re in a quaint village underneath a Christmas tree; the next minute you’re in Bethlehem crossing the desert, and, next, you have a World War II, Bob Hope-Bing Crosby Vibe.
