The WDOK Women's Outreach Program is the station's newest charitable fund raising program. Patterned after the successful WDOK Feed-A-Family Campaign, the new WDOK Women's Outreach Program directs its fund-raising efforts toward charities and organizations which focus their attention on issues of importance to women. Among this list of organizations which have already benefited from the WDOK Women's Outreach Program are The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Komen Northeast Ohio “Race for the Cure ,” Providence House, Ronald McDonald House Charities, MADD and others. Like its Feed-A-Family counterpart, one of the many unique aspects of the WDOK Women's Outreach Program is that the station takes no administrative fees off the top of listener donations. Every single penny donated goes directly to the charities and organizations served by the fund. The station creates special WDOK Night Out ticket packages which are promoted on-the-air and sold to raise money for the fund. Each Night Out includes tickets to a hot concert or show, a VIP Pre-Show Party hosted by one of the WDOK personalities, and transportation to & from the theatre on Lolly The Trolley. Everything, including the concert and show tickets, is donated by WDOK promotional partners participating in the program. Commercial time is provided by WDOK.
Our first WDOK Night Out was a dinner cruise on board the Nautica Queen which raised more than $7,000 for the Komen Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure. Since then, we've hosted many more WDOK Nights Out – including the Broadway production of Mama Mia , Tony N' Tina's Wedding , Cirque Du Solei's Quidam , the world-famous Rockettes starring in The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Bette Midler's Kiss My Brass Tour and Robert Dubac's The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron? Keep listening to Soft Rock 102.1 for information about our next WDOK Night Out. |
