House of Crafts - Hand Blown Glass

 
HAND BLOWN GLASS, NOT REALLY, BUT IT SURE LOOKS LIKE IT!

I sure find a lot of cool ideas when I just take an hour to roam the aisles of Pat Catan’s.  I found this stuff called Liquid Rainbow transparent paint that looks so beautiful on clear glass! It looks like hand blown glass when it’s dry.   I found it in the paint section and then I went to the clear glass section and picked out some pretty vases, a couple of olive oil bottles and candle holders for super cheap prices!  The decorating ideas are endless, but here’s a few of mine and Robin’s.  It was fun creating and chatting away the afternoon with my friend and we ended the day with some really beautiful art pieces for our homes!  Take a look at our video below….

You’ll need:
• Liquid Rainbow transparent paints…they come in about 30 different colors…choose the ones you like!
• Styrene painting blank
• Clear glass accessory like a vase, a lamp, a plate, an ornament or candlestick
• X-acto knife or utility knife
• Newspaper to cover work surface
• A plastic cup or something to raise the accessory from work area

I started by positioning my vase on to a plastic cup so the transparent paint could drip on to the painting blank.  It’s very important you purchase one of these painting blanks because once your art piece is done, the paint that drips down peels right off of it with your utility knife. You can reuse your painting blank over and over again.  Squeeze your p
